The Statistical Analysis Center of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency annually compiles crime figures in Alabama. In 2020, Chilton County reported a total number of 101 crimes, including 26 violent crimes and 75 property crimes. Violent crimes reported include 0 homicides, 5 rapes, 1 robbery, and 20 aggravated assaults. Property crimes reported include 28 burglaries, 44 larcenies, and 3 motor vehicle thefts.

The 2017 crime figures show a significant decline in crime rates in Chilton County over a 5-year period. Between 2013 and 2017, there was a decline in 4 out of 7 major crimes in the county.
